Visual artist Laraib Atta (singer Atta Ullah Khan Esakhelvi’s daughter), a Pakistani visual artist, has been nominated for an Oscar along with a young Pakistan-based visual artist. The Pakistan-based visual artist has worked alongside each other on the latest Bond movie, No Time to Die, bagging three nods in the 94th Academy Awards. The nominations include ‘Best Original Song’, ‘Best Song’, and ‘Best Visual Effects.’

The artist who created the special effects, Laraib Atta from Pakistan, stated, “I am so thankful for all the kind messages and support I have received for the nominations. It is an honor to work alongside such great minds.” “All thanks to my brother Sanwal and my mother for being there for me throughout.”

The Oscar and BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) nominated visual artist of Pakistani origin, Laraib Atta, has made her mark in Hollywood by working on blockbuster Hollywood movies like ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past, ‘Godzilla’ and ‘Mission: Impossible – Fallout’. She is breaking boundaries globally at just 29 years of age.

Laraib Atta’s passion for visual effects was apparent from a very early age. She began her career as Pakistan’s youngest and arguably the first visual-effects artist at the age of 19. As of September 2015, she is employed at the Imasblue and Glassworks Barcelona (Spain).
